TableSuspicious Packages The head of the local FBI has issued a general warning to be on the lookout for suspicious packages in the wake of the terrorist attacks. The news media and postal workers should consider itself particularly at risk after several reports of anthrax contamination. The FBI explained that anthrax comes in a fine, dust-like material. It is more like flour, not like sugar, in texture. It is tan or off-white in color but it could be dyed to give it another color. It takes more than a pinch of anthrax to hurt you, maybe a teaspoon or two, but any suspicion that you are dealing with material like this should warrant caution. While any handling of anthrax can be dangerous, inhaling it poses the greatest threat. If you think you have a suspicious piece of mail, put it down and contact the appropriate authorities.
